Milestones of Development

The measurement point of development in children is called a milestone. Not every child will develop at the same rate and we should not expect them to; each child is different. However, these developmental milestones are a guideline which helps us know what we might expect next from a child, or when we should be concerned that there might be a delay.

How a child develops, what he does or does not do at various ages, should be monitored. If there are developmental delays in a child, seeing the signs early will help you to get help as early as you can.
