Now that the sun has decided to make her presence known on a
regular basis, it is time to get out the sunscreen.
Remember,
Remember,
- ALL children, regardless of skin coloring, should use sunscreen
- Each child should bring their own sunscreen from home to eliminate allergic reactions
- To be effective, sunscreen should be applied at least 20 minutes before exposure to sunlight
Teachers must change their gloves for each sunscreen
application. Yes, that is a lot of gloves, but it is not to protect you, it is
to protect the children. If you don’t change your gloves, or at least wash your hands
between applications, the sunscreen concoction you end up with on your hand or
glove could cause a serious allergic reaction. This, of course, would completely defeat the purpose of each
child bringing their own sunscreen protection and cause cross contamination.
So be safe, have fun!
